What if I have never practiced NFP before?

Your Marquette Method certified instructor will guide you through navigating your cycle including your fertile and infertile windows. This may seem complicated at first, but rest assured your teacher will assist you in learning more about your fertility.

What does the Catholic Church have to say about NFP?

The Catholic Church supports Natural Family Planning (NFP) as a morally acceptable method for spacing or avoiding pregnancy. Rooted in respect for the natural rhythms of fertility, NFP promotes an understanding of the body and encourages couples to collaborate with God's design for human sexuality. Unlike artificial contraception, which is viewed as interfering with the procreative purpose of marital intimacy, NFP aligns with the Church’s teachings on openness to life, marital love, and responsible parenthood, as outlined in key documents such as *Humanae Vitae* and *Familiaris Consortio*.

We just had our baby, when should we start tracking postpartum?

Congratulations! Most couples are ready to resume intercourse around 6 weeks postpartum, although this is a decision that involves communication about healing and could include your 6 week check up postpartum. Many couples begin to track fertility as they resume intercourse around this time. There are some considerations that may be discussed with a Marquette teacher during a free introductory session.
